Rusty became more than a sales representative to us. He became our friend and ally. Our experience with finding our boat had some real challenges but with Mr. Hightower’s expert guidance and positive attitude we persevered! Little Yacht Sales is very fortunate to have Rusty Hightower in their employ and we feel extremely lucky to have had Rusty on our side every step of the way.

I recently completed a boat purchase transaction with Kent Little of Little Yacht Sales and Texas Power Yachts. Kent actually represented the seller as the listing broker and I contacted him as an out of state (California) buyer who was interested in the boat. From the very inception, the whole process was handled very professionally by Kent and all my anxiety and concerns about being an out of state buyer were thoroughly put to rest. Kent and his team really went out of their way to make sure everything went absolutely smoothly and all questions were answered promptly. This included the initial dialogue, purchase price negotiations, purchase/sale and Coast Guard documentation paperwork, setting up a mechanical inspection, setting up a professional vessel survey, scheduling and completing agreed repairs before shipping and even the boat transport arrangements to ship the boat to California. All in all, I can say the entire experience probably could not have gone any smoother and successfully. Everything as was as advertised and the boat was delivered as planned. I confidently recommend Kent to anyone in need of a boat or wanting to sell one, whether in Texas or anywhere else.
Thanks again for working with me through the process of getting my boat sold. As I said on Facebook, I think that you have the perfect demeanor to work with the buyer and seller to get the deal done. While I am aware that the sale went faster than most, it still takes your skills to bring both parties together with a deal. Thanks again. I couldn’t have been more pleased with the process.

Just a short note to thank you for hanging in there with us as we worked through the Sea Ray 240 purchase. I am sure the little boats are a pain compared to the larger ones you guys broker, but you never made us feel that way.
Boat purchases don’t happen very often for us, so we appreciate your experience and knowledge.
As we take our next step, you will be the first one we look up for help – hopefully it won’t be too long.
Also thanks to John for the test drive and personally delivering the boat to my drive way.
I will not hesitate to recommend LYS to anyone.

The image the general public has of the typical sales representative is that of a high-pressure, over-bearing, aggressive personality type, equipped with enough information about the product to enable them to berate the competition, but not to “sell” the product. Rest assured that Dan Hughes does not fit that mold.
Dan carefully led us through the boat explaining all the features, and demonstrating the “nice touches” that Carver products have. He spoke with a confidence and assurance in the product that instilled in us a sense of trust, both in Dan’s abilities and in the quality of the product. There was no topic he tried to avoid, nor was there any question he could not (or more importantly, would not) answer. Dan’s professionalism and personal approach to this sale, favorably affected our decision to buy.
Once we were relatively certain that we wanted the Santego, we began a more detailed interrogation of Dan concerning the boat. As a practicing litigation attorney in Texas, I can tell you that Texas has a very active field of litigation concerning deceptive trade practices. This has reigned in some sales enthusiasm when the product is not exactly what the sales representative wants the purchaser to believe it is. Dan never hesitated.
On a day that was less than ideal, we asked Dan to take us for a sea trial. Probably, most new boats will pass a sea trial in optimum weather. Once again, Dan did not hesitate. Perhaps now you are beginning to appreciate why our confidence in our decision was growing. Dan’s conduct during the sale made a pleasure out of our boat purchasing experience. He is to be commended for his knowledge and demeanor.
But it didn’t stop there. Dan knew we were inexperienced. After the purchase, Dan taught us docking procedures, and enough about handling the boat to set us at ease during our maiden “solo” voyage.
We have had our share of “novice” questions. We don’t know who to ask other than Dan. Not only does he answer our questions, but he does so willingly and enthusiastically. We will recommend him to our friends…..

I was looking at the Cruisers 420 Express because of its open layout but ultimately choose a smaller 33 foot boat from another manufacturer your company does not represent. This choice was simply based on the design of the boat, lower entry cost and the fact that it will ultimately be located in Austin , Texas.
Although I was treated well by the company I purchased from, I think Dan Hughes is probably the best representative I worked with overall. I know that if I ultimately trade up I will look to Dan and Ship & Sail for my next boat.
I own my own business and it is important to have people who represent your company well. I wanted to let you know that Dan is one of those individuals you love to have on your team.
Thank you gain for all of the assistance,

Just a note to express my many thanks and appreciation for all of your cooperation, assistance and professionalism in the sale of “Fever,” the Carver 444 Cockpit MY 2003 to my buyer, Robert E. Kennedy .
It is a rarity and certainly a pleasure to conduct business in such a nice manner.
The very best of luck to you both, and please do not hesitate to contact me if I may be of assistance to you in the near future.
